Life & Career-

Daniel Lawrence Whitney (born February 17, 1963), better known by his stage name and character Larry the Cable Guy, hails from Pawnee City, Nebraska. He was enrolled int the Baptist University of America but left in the middle of his studies to pursue standup comedy full-time. In 2005, he married his wife Cara. They have two children together, a son, Wyatt (born August 2006) and a daughter Reagan (born October 2007). His home town of Pawnee City, Nebraska has a street named after him.

Whitney began his career in radio as a disc jockey in Blue Springs, Missouri, as well as making appearances on various radio shows all over the US throughout the 90s, like The Ron and Ron Show, The Chris Baker Show, KEZO's The Todd and Tyler Show and Kirk, Mark, and Lopez morning show; he guested on the Johnny Dare and Murphy show on 98.9, KQRC, Kansas City, WJRR in Orlando, Florida, othe Monsters in the Mid Day (presently the Monsters in the Morning), Greg and the Morning Buzz on WHEB 100.3 and WGIR 101.1 in Portsmouth and Manchester, New Hampshire.

Of course, he is best-known for the “Larry the Cable Guy” character, which he developed throughout the years, and most famously, his line “Git-R-Done”. This personality brought him to stardom, including appearances on The Blue Collar Comedy Tour, three gold records, various TV and movie appearance, his own feature film, as well as a commercial for Nutrisystem. Later on, he received the honor of having his own “roast” at comedy central. He continues to tour and sells out venues wherever he goes.

These guys were fantastic! I had a great time when my husband took me to see them at the Nationwide Arena. Bill was quite charming and Larry was hilarious! Jeff of course, was in top shape, and there wasnt a single silent or awkward moment! It was too bad Ron White wasnt with them, but the show was still great, especially at the end when they were all on stage and they played off each other. Great show!
