Life & Career
The “Loveable Queen of Mean”, Lisa Lampanelli can really dish it out! Best known for her insult-style
comedy (influenced by Dean Martin Roasts she used to watch growing up), Lisa Lampanelli is one of
today’s most popular stand-up comedians, selling out shows across the country.
Lampanelli’s life was your typical American story – she grew up in a middle-class family in Connecticut,
with 2 other siblings. She went to Catholic school throughout her childhood and worked at several publications, including Rolling Stone, Popular Mechanics, Spy and Hit Parader. She also began doing her comedy at New York clubs sometime in the 90s. The famous New York Friar’s
Club gave her her first big break in 2002 at the roast of Chevy Chase, where she became an instant hit.
They invited her back several times, participating in the roasts of Pamela Anderson, Denis Leary, Jeff Foxworthy, David Hasselhoff, Flavor Flav, William Shatner, and, “The Donald” himself, Donald Trump.
She also became the roastmaster for Larry the Cable Guy. Through her funny, mean but loveable roasts, she became a much sought after roaster, and well respected among her peers.
Aside from her roast appearances, she is released two hit DVDs (Take it Like a Man and Dirty Girl), made
cameos on TV and Movies, is a best-selling author, and taped her first, one-woman special for HBO "Lisa Lampanelli: Long Live the Queen,"
