Cigar smokin’, Scotch-drinkin’ bad boy Ron White is perhaps best known for his witty observations on Southern culture, and as one of the principal comedians of The Blue Collar Comedy Tour. His signature punch line (and name of his wildly successful tour and album) ends with “…you can’t fix stupid.” He is also a top-selling author and TV host, and has one of the top 3 stand-up tours in the US today.

White was born on December 18, 1956 in Texas, and he later joined the United States Navy. But, his dream had always been to become a comedian, and he played from city to city, driving himself to comedy clubs in his truck. In between performing, he supported himself by selling windows in between gigs. His hard work paid off later on in the 90s, and he found success in the comedy club circuit.

The new decade proved to be his bet yet – he began performing with Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy as part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour between 2003 and 2004. The tour was a smashing success, shattering records and selling out tours months in advanced, grossing over $15 million dollars and spinning off into a feature documentary-style film. Foxworthy was quoted as saying he picked White because he was “the most naturally funny guy I ever met."

His brusque and blunt comedic style was a hit to fans and he established himself as a witty and acerbic observational comedian, apart from his Blue Collar group. He recorded a comedy CD in 2003 (Drunk In Public) and taped his first comedy special for Comedy Central (They Call Me Tater Salad) that garnered the comedy channel its highest rating on a Sunday ever. The release of the DVD/CD became a hug hit, certified Multi-Platinum selling 2.5 million copies.

But perhaps his most successful act was “You Can’t Fix Stupid”, which started as another one-hour comedy special, and debuted to 4.5 million viewers and became the #1 show on basic cable for primetime in 2006. He was nominated for a Grammy for the release of the CD, which premiered on Billboard’s Top 200 at the #14 spot and was #1 on the Comedy Charts for 9 weeks straight. In the same year, he got another Grammy Nomination for “Blue Collar Comedy Tour - One for The Road,” and debuted on the New York Times Best Seller List with his book Ron “Tater Salad” White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent…But I Didn’t Have the Ability. Today he continues to tour solo to sold-out audiences across the country and appearing in feature films.
