  • Russell Brand Report Card

Russell Brand has been both good and bad lately. The stand up comedian and actor, who was racing himself for number one at the box office last year around this time with ‘Arthur’ and ‘Hop’, is settling while finalizing his divorce from pop star Katy Perry. If you don't keep your head under the ground all the time, you are well aware of all the silliness surrounding the divorce, including Perry's making headlines when she dropped Brand from her twitter account!

Brand has been under a lot of pressure, and we here at comedyworld.com are keeping score of when he's being naughty and when he's being nice during these turbulent times.

    Nice:

Not too long ago, he managed to nail down a show deal with FX.

    Naughty:

About a week ago, he was arrested in New Orleans after he allegedly grabbed a photographer’s iPhone and threw it out a window.

He posted $5,000 bail and was released.

    Nice:

Brand recently gave £400 to a homeless man who he met on Hollywood Boulevard - near where he had shared a home with Katy Perry. Brand was with his new girlfriend when he started talking with the man and decided to give him the money. He told the man to spend it wisely and to not be a stranger the next time they ran into each other.

What a nice guy! Comedyworld.com finds it relevant and important to note that when Brand is not the center of tabloid magazines, he is ALSO one heck of a comedic performer, and stand -up comedian. We advise you to stay tuned for more Russell Brand show information on your favorite comedy web site, comedyworld.com

  • Lewis Black Attack!

    And I . . . will always . . . love Lew . . . is Black!

The nation stood still earlier this month when famous and beloved singer Whitney Houston died of unknown causes.

Recently, in his Daily Show segment “Back in Black”, stand up comedian and humorist Lewis Black  chided the media for how they handled her death. He accused journalists of using one liners in stories that were based on her song titles to introduce segments . . . the nerve!

Black has for a long time now been the angry, shaking ball of rage who acts as a pit bull to the media. He is the watch dog to the watch dogs and won’t let them get away with much of anything.

He is also quite adept at standup comedy, so we need you to stay tuned and learn more about his up coming tour dates here at comedyworld.com.

  • Joan Rivers Extends Claws!

Joan Rivers, who seems to be cuttin’ loose on the world these days, extended her reach of wrath to Jay Leno during an interview on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live” Thursday night to talk red carpet fashion.

Rivers, who was expelled from the Tonight Show many years ago, touched on the subject, by mentioning that she didn’t think that Leno was that funny. . . ouch! This is a bold statement, and reminds comedyworld.com of not more than a few weeks ago, when she declared that Chelsea Handler was not a genius.

And while she was on the subject of people who don’t impress her – it seems as if she decided to go all out!  She later went on to comment on how she didn't think comedian Dane Cook was that funny either - "Somebody explain to me, cause I don't get it. I'm willing to learn, I don't get it," Rivers said.

We here at comedyworld.com hope that she at least likes us . . .

Joan Rivers is a groundbreaking female comedian and comedyworld.com believes she has earned the license to tell it how it is! Stay tuned to get the latest on her upcoming tours and live performances.

  • Comedienne Cat Fight - Yes!

Recently, during separate appearances on Howard Stern's SiriusXM program, comediennes Chelsea Handler and Joan Rivers had words for each other . . . some of them unkind.

Comedyworld.com is not sure how or why it was started. But this is what Handler said first:

"Joan Rivers gets up and she's like, I'd like to thank Chelsea Handler for giving me a career in comedy (mock laughing), and congratulations on your stage, Chelsea, because I don't even have a dressing room. And I'm like, f*** off!"

Rivers then appeared in Stern's studio the following morning. During this sparkly interview, she alleged that Handler was having conjegal relations with someone high up in the industry and that's how she got her break.

Rivers then said that Handler was "not a genius". . . oooooohhh snap! She also went on to call Handler a drunk. Rivers then said some other nasty things that we here at comedyworld.com are not comfortable repeating in mixed company.

Both Handler and Rivers are worthy comediennes who put on great shows. But the reality is that sparks are flying amongst these two talented ladies.  So, keep comedyworld.com in your navigation bar to see who says what next!

  • Louis CK Rakes In a Grammy!

Louis C.K. won the grammy for Best Comedy Album for his album "Hilarious"  on Feb. 12.

And no, he didn't have to pick out a gown, or get to stroke his beard as his name was announced, and the camera panned across his contemplative face. And no, there was no opportunity for Tina Fey to pop her head in behind him as the camera panned either!

Nope folks, this was filmed at at a pre-televised ceremony, and CK was not in attendance! Regardless, this award definitely puts another notch on CK's notchy belt!

"Hilarious" is C.K.'s fifth stand-up comedy album, and this was the first time he was nominated.

"Hilarious" was also recorded as a concert film, and was the first stand-up special to show at Sundance Film Festival. Maybe that was what really made Tracy Morgan faint!

CK, who is currently lighting the world on fire, spoke at a press tour recently about one of his big failures in the past, the movie "Pootie Tang".

Clearly, that is long behind him, because before he won this honor, he was reeling from the success of his live performance at the Beacon Theatre this last winter. Go CK go!

In case you can't get enough of this guy, check him out in up-coming episodes of Parks and Rec with Amy Poehler.

What will he do next?! Well, you're definitely on the right site if you want to find out when CK will go on tour again or what shows he might have coming up. Stay tuned!
